When the garage door opener was first invented, it was composed of a transmitter and a receiver which triggered the door opener. The transmitter would send a signal that the received could understand which would then trigger the door to open or close. This technology was actually used first during World War II to detonate bombs. Initially, the garage door openers had trouble because they would open other garages nearby, but the technology was perfected and now we don’t have that problem anymore!
